Company Profile

Since 1986, Teamworks (formerly Merribrook Development) has helped; large and small organisations, Local and State Governments, and Departments, Clubs and Associations develop their human resources and tap their potential. Partnering with over 1,000 organisations in Australia and South-East Asia, Teamworks custom designs manages, markets and conducts sport and recreation, organisational development, training and development programs/events. Teamworks Development Pty Ltd is the parent company of Teamworks Development Training Sdn Bhd.

In 2004 Teamworks opened its first overseas office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, delivering the same quality and array of products to the local Malaysian sector and throughout South-East Asia. Teamworks and Nomad Adventure Sdn Bhd jointly own Teamworks Development Training Sdn Bhd.

Teamworks went through the quality assurance process of becoming a Registered Training Organisation (RTO/college, in Australia) in 2003 aiding in the portability of its training products, both nationally and internationally. Teamworks currently deliver qu alifications in Business, Sports and Recreation, Leadership, and soon to come Training and Assessment.

Directors

Malcolm (Mal) Lowther – Director Australia and Indonesia

Mal completed a Bachelor of Education with a Post Graduate Diploma of Physical Education and was a Physical Education lecturer for 25 years. His career in education culminated in a vice principal's position. During his time as a physical education lecturer, for seven years he was also a Fitness and Rehabilitation Coach and Running Coach for the Fremantle Dockers - one of the professional football teams playing in the Australian Football League (AFL) and Mal continues to maintain a close association with the Club.

In addition to being a Director at Teamworks he is the Schools, Sporting and Youth Associations Manager and Corporate Facilitator. His broad experience in the education and physical fitness fields allows him to bring his wealth of knowledge in team and activity based experiences to ensure that all participants of Teamworks programs can achieve their goals in a safe, healthy, fun environment. His expertise has also seen Mal work with several professional sports teams to conduct team development events. In 2003 he designed and ran a multi-day team development retreat for the Australian Men's Hockey Team to prepare them for the 2004 Athens Olympics. This helped them achieve success at the Games and bring back to Australia the Gold Medal. Mal also regularly works with the Western Australian State Women's Netball Team (Perth Orioles) developing team strategies and cohesion.

Mal's areas of interest also include developing and implementing programs in leadership development for youth and he has designed development programs for various not-for-profit organisations that target 'Youth at Risk' and other disadvantaged socio-economic groups. He is very actively involved in encouraging youth participation in sports in Western Australia. He coaches a junior football team, is in a local social league and coaches surf boat crews for the Western Australian Surf Lifesaving on a regular basis.

Mal has competed in four marathons and was part of the Australian Dragon Boat racing team for a number of years and was part of the Australian team that won first place at the international Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Malaysia in 1983.

Ian Lowther – Director Australia

Ian operates his own physiotherapy and podiatry practices in Perth Western Australia, as well as plays a contributory role in Teamworks. Ian has been involved in sport since his youth, as a budding footy player to becoming the Physiotherapist for the professional Australian football team, The Fremantle Dockers.

Ian spent several years with The Dockers as their team Physiotherapist but has also worked with numerous State and National sport teams. Through his days with The Dockers and his participation in West Australian sport and fitness Ian is a well-known figure amongst the sport, health and fitness fraternity.

Ian spends his free time coaching several sports and leagues in Western Australia.

Natasha Haynes

Natasha Haynes has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Deakin University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Organisational Psychology at the University of Western Australia. Natasha is also an accredited user of the MSCEIT evaluation tool for emotional intelligence.  Besides Natasha's academic credentials, she has hands on experience working with and within successful teams.  She has coached several sports teams at an International level, and has herself competed at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. 

Natasha has several years experience as a Facilitator within a wide range of industry groups such as the Australian Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Association (AMCA) and the Department of Health, which focused on stress and coping.  Natasha presently acts as a Consultant and Facilitator for Teamworks.  Natasha's areas of specialisation include stress management, coping and emotional intelligence.

Paul Buesnel, Ph.D

Paul Buesnel has been a public presenter and trainer for over 25 years. For several years he was speaking over 200 times per year in major conferences and seminars across the United States. He is an engaging presenter that relates to his audience and brings them with him. Using both his natural humour, his ability to engage the crowd in the experience, he brings learning and interaction to a new level. He has returned year after year to the same venues to keynote speak or do workshops on leadership, the theory of organisations, as well as educational and psychological training. He is able to engage people from all walks of life, bringing the gap between the generations.

Paul began his career as a minister on the inner city streets of Los Angeles before furthering his education in the field of psychology and subsequently entering private practice. He has been involved in managing people from different walks of life, motivating and bringing them together to form a team. He has taught at undergraduate level for distant learning campuses across American and overseas.

Brian Chadwick

Brian holds a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching, Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Certificate III in Correctional Practice and is working towards a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety.

Brian began his career as a teacher. In the mid 1990's, he began his own business and set up a successful franchise. Brian joined the Department of Justice as a prison officer before moving into the Department's training department as a Senior Training Officer. During this time he has also been a business sector facilitator for Teamworks, leading many development and leadership programs

Tim Ringrose

Tim has a BA in Human Resource Management and is qualified to deliver and facilitate a number of personality profiling tools including DISC analysis and Relationship Awareness using the Strength Deployment Profiling Instrument. He is an experienced yachtsman and is a qualified sailing instructor and PADI open water diver.

Tim has experience in both the administrative management and the hands-on facilitator elements of the sports and recreation industry. He has a particularly strong background developing and implementing programs for various youth based groups including youth at risk and outward-bound courses for adolescent males. He has worked in urban and rural areas with various socio-economic groups in Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. He created and implemented a National Youth Sailing Training Scheme in Fiji and coached sailing at a National level being the sailing coach for Fiji's first National Optimist Team (Pacific Regional Championships in Tahiti, 1992)

He has implemented and organised various sponsorship and fundraising events and currently works with Teamworks as one of our specialist consultants.

Gary Delamare

(Grad Dip Prop. Ass Dip Valn, Licensed BTS Coach). Gary works with organisations in business planning. After 20 years as a licensed valuer, Gary has a better understanding of the contribution of planning to the value of a business than most.

A double graduate from Curtin University, Gary believes his best knowledge tools come from his broad professional experience and the BTS Planning methodology.

Ingrid de Meillon

B A (Psy, Soc.) B.Sc. (Applied Maths)

For Ingrid, people, their development and interaction have been a key focus of the past 25 years. With a background in both Sociology and Psychology, and an active working knowledge collected through a diversity of employment she has put together a suite of skills and experience that continues to grow.

In more recent times Ingrid has worked with a Human Resource Company and Teamworks, facilitating Experiential Learning programs. This has offered the opportunity to work with research bodies, some of the largest mining companies, farming communities, the commercial and financial sector through to individual needs in the ever-changing environment in various locations around Australia, particularly in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Other experience has included work in Social Work, teaching and the development of alternate learning methods. Ingrid has a strong background in financial management, logistics and processes around effective organisation in environments where there is constant change and restructuring. Ingrid's work with tools such as Herrmann Brain Dominance and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator have also led to work in Performance Management, Change and Coaching. Ingrid has developed modules in Conflict and conducts seminars on these regularly with excellent results and feedback.

Permanent Field Staff

All of our staff undergo extensive training in relation to Teamworks operational standards and their specific specialisation areas, most hold qualifications at university level and/or hold at least specialised Nationally Recognised Australian Qualifications in relevant to Teamworks product lines. Teamworks pride themselves on retaining the highest standard of staff and in setting the benchmark in Malaysia.
